As some home owners in Kano heed the State Government’s call to recertify their CofO, a vast majority has remained aloof.
The non-compliance of a vast majority of home owners has made the Kano State commissioner for Land and Physical Planning to issue a stern warning to home owners across the state on the dangers of noncompliance.
According to him, non compliance exposes them to the risk of title revocation under Section 28(5) of the Land Use Act, 1978.
Explaining further, Umar said the initiative is designed to help the state determine who owns what, how land is utilized, and what infrastructure is lacking in different areas.
Do you think the Kano State government is right in initiating a CofO recertification? What impact do you think this will have on home ownership and Real Estate investment? If you were a home owner in Kano, would you comply with this rule?
