In a bold move to support Nigeria’s small business ecosystem, the Federal Government has awarded ₦250,000 in unconditional grants to outstanding MSMEs in Ondo State during the 7th Expanded National MSME Clinic, held in Akure.
The announcement was made by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who emphasized that the disbursement reflects President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to empower grassroots businesses and grow local industries.
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) make up:
- Over 90% of businesses in Nigeria
- Contribute 45%+ to the national economy
- Employ over 60 million Nigerians
According to VP Shettima, these businesses are “the silent architects of survival” and play a vital role in poverty reduction, job creation, and community development.
During the clinic:
- Outstanding MSMEs received ₦250,000 grants — unconditionally
- Businesses had direct access to regulatory agencies, banks, and business support organisations
- The Federal Government reiterated its commitment to creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurship
This MSME Clinic is part of a series designed to bring government closer to innovators, producers, and job creators across all regions of Nigeria.
