The Gbenga Daniel demolition dispute has taken a legal turn, as the Ogun State High Court issued an ex parte order halting any plans to demolish the former governor’s Asoludero Court private residence in Sagamu GRA, as well as his Conference Hotels Limited and its annex.
Justice O.S. Oloyede granted the injunction against Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Attorney General, the Planning and Development Permit Authority, and the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The order followed an application by Daniel and his wife, Yeye Olufunke Daniel, filed by senior advocate A.M. Kotoye (SAN). The couple sought urgent legal protection after their properties were marked under Ogun State’s ongoing property audit exercise — a controversial process affecting several high-profile assets.
The Certified True Copy of the order, signed by Principal Registrar W.T. Ogundele, restrains the defendants from tampering with or demolishing the properties until a full hearing determines the case.
This legal battle comes days after the Ogun State Government extended the deadline for property owners to present their title documents or regularise permits (Read PMW coverage here).
