TETFund and NACCIMA Partnership to Strengthen Education-Industry Collaboration

The much-anticipated TETFund and NACCIMA partnership is moving closer to reality with plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) have set up a joint committee to formalize the agreement.

During a meeting in Abuja, hosted by TETFund, its Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono, emphasized that the MoU will close the gap between higher education and the private sector. He noted that the TETFund and NACCIMA partnership would create opportunities for research-driven innovation, skill development, and technology transfer.

According to Echono, this collaboration has the potential to address challenges that have long slowed Nigeria’s economic growth. By aligning curricula with industry needs, Nigerian graduates will be better prepared for today’s competitive workforce. He added that, with its vast natural and human resources, Nigeria can emulate the successes of nations like China, India, and South Korea (World Bank).

NACCIMA President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, commended TETFund’s openness to private sector involvement, stressing that stronger education-industry synergy is vital for job creation and sustainable development.

This partnership also holds promise for entrepreneurs and investors in Nigeria’s real estate, housing, and infrastructure sectors—areas where innovation and skilled manpower are crucial. For related insights, see our coverage on Nigeria’s real estate trends and housing sector reforms.

As the MoU takes shape, stakeholders are optimistic that this collaboration will not only empower universities and polytechnics but also strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global economy.
