In a landmark recognition of sporting excellence, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has gifted ₦50 million and a three-bedroom bungalow to Coach Justin Madugu for his pivotal role in leading Nigeria’s Super Falcons to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The award ceremony took place at the Government House in Yola, where Governor Fintiri described Madugu as a “true son of Adamawa” and praised his strategic brilliance that spurred the team’s remarkable comeback against tournament hosts Morocco.
“Today, I was proud to receive Coach Justin Madugu, a hero of Nigeria’s WAFCON 2024 victory. In recognition of his patriotism and brilliance, we have gifted him a 3‑bedroom house and ₦50 million. His success inspires our sporting renaissance,” the governor stated.
Further honoring the achievement, the Hama Bachama, a leading traditional ruler in Adamawa, conferred a traditional title on Madugu for his contribution to national pride and youth inspiration.
