Dangote Cement mass housing initiatives are taking center stage in the fight against Nigeria’s growing housing deficit. At the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), Dangote Cement Plc called for stronger collaboration to scale affordable housing for Nigerians.
Partnerships Are Key
Speaking at the event, Dolapo Alli, National Sales Director of Dangote Cement, stressed the need for public-private partnerships (PPPs) to drive budget-friendly mass housing.
“Government can adopt PPP models to initiate new estates, while construction firms can be incentivized with tax waivers and credits to finance affordable housing developments,” Alli said.
He commended the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Housing Initiative, which aims to make homeownership easier for low- and middle-income earners. But Alli emphasized that bridging the Nigeria housing deficit requires innovative financing, streamlined regulations, and large-scale delivery models.
Why This Matters for Nigeria’s Real Estate Sector
Affordable homes are more than a social need—they are a real estate investment driver. At Property Media Week, we see the Dangote Cement mass housing call as a turning point that could:
– Unlock new investment opportunities
– Expand urban infrastructure and planned estates
– Create thousands of jobs in the housing value chain
– Offer a sustainable path to homeownership in Nigeria
Dangote Cement’s message is clear: tackling the Nigeria housing deficit requires government, private developers, and communities to work together.
With the right public-private partnerships, mass housing can reshape Nigeria’s urban landscape and make affordable housing a reality for millions.
